Jeju-do, Korea's largest island, is competing to be listed in the New
Seven Wonders of Nature, an initiative led by the Swiss-based non-profit
New7wonders Foundation.
The New7wonders Foundation has been running the initiative since 2007 in
order to introduce the value of the environment to the public and to
preserve sites of natural beauty around the world. Jeju Island is the
only candidate in the Northeast Asian region among the 28 final
candidates.
Anyone can participate and vote via telephone and the internet. The
final seven will be announced on November 11 (November 10, Korean local

Other potential candidates include world-famous tourist attractions like
