“The
Korean Cultural Center (a.k.a. KCC), was founded in 2003 under a
forceful mis-sion: to promote Korean culture in the United States
through education and per-forming arts. The KCC, will continue to
promote Korean culture and provide a welcoming place where all cultures
and all people can come together in the joy of Korean traditional music
and dance. We hope that our heritage will continuously spread throughout
the country so that all people will be able to experience Korean
culture. Until then, we are here to offer the best performances by
mutually sup-porting and inter-acting with the lo-cal communities.”
About Us
Korean Cultural
Center (KCC) in Atlanta was founded in 2009 with a mission to promote
Korean culture in the Southeast-ern U.S. And KTCC (Korean Traditional
Cultural Center) is the previous organiza-tion in New York City.

Stars Theater: Classes include Samulnori (Korean traditional
percussions) and Traditional vocal instruction - At schools: Create

Annual Summer Samulnori Camp
- Intensive
leaning of the art of Korean traditional drumming: its philosophy,
technique, history, and cul-tural roots. - Daily workshop on other forms
of Korean perform-ing arts: singing, dance, string, and flute. -
Lecture series on Korean history,traditions, tea cere-mony, and
identity. - Korean traditional games and sports.
Chil Seung Kwon,Executive Director
Mr. Kwon, since his youth,
has been praised as a genius
musician and an artistic
prodigy.
He already had been awarded the President's Music Award three times
while still a teenager at high school. Since that time, he has earned
Korea's most competitive and most prestigious honor for a Korean
tradi-tional musician, the Grandprix at the KBS Traditional Korean Music
Contest. He was and still remains as the one and only drummer to earn
this title.
Some of highlights
1985 Founded “Dunseh”, the pro-fessional Korean traditional percus-sion
group at the age of 18, marking the youngest ever to become a
pro-fessional drummer in the history of Korean traditional music.
1995 Won the Grandprix at the KBS Traditional Korean Music Contest - the most prestigious musical contest in the nation.
3-time Korean President's Music Award winner
9-time National Korean Traditional Performing Art Contest Grandprix winner.
Mr. Kwon has performed interna-tionally more than 1200 times, in over 20 different countries.
