The comments by the audience at coloratura soprano Sumi Jo's concert at Woodruff Arts Center as following:
ANN TUNILWhat a wonderful evening enjoying the music of lyric coloratura soprano, Sumi Jo from South Korea. She rivals any and all sopranos! What made me jump with joy... she sang two works I sang in my college recital! That made me feel very special! The most memorable moment is when Sumi Jo sang Psalm 23 in Korean and invited the audience to sing with her! The beautiful voices through out the art center, the reverence for and to God was astounding! Sarah and Min, thank you for sharing your culture with us. First the Korean Festival couple weeks ago and then this delightful concert! Thank you! I had a wonderful time at Sumi Jo's performance last night in Atlanta. Thank you Mr Pak for inviting me. As I was listening to her wonderful singing, I could not help but think of the discipline required for her to be able to sing as she does. She has tremendous talent. I thank God for her talent and for her. With all of the talent she has, she would not be able to perform without discipline. I prayed that I would be as disciplined in my walk with the Lord as Sumi Jo is in her music. I am reminded of scripture that Jim Elliott loved. 2 Timothy 2:4-5 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
4 No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. 5 Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules.
