The Sword with No Name – Korean Swordplay Epic
Its not just the Chinese and Japanese who can produce solid Swordplay movies you know, The Koreans know a thing or two about the genre themselves. Although more known for over stylized, and sometimes over dramatic arthouse movies, the Koreans have in recent years produced some pretty decent swordplay movies Bichunmoo, The Restless, The Duelist and Shadowless Sword being some of the more memorable movies.
Well later this year it looks like we will be able to add ‘The Sword With No Name’ to Koreas list of swordplay movies, whether or not this will go into the ‘memorable’ list is anyone’s guess.
‘Sword with No Name’ is directed by Kim Yong-gyoon ( of “Red Shoes” fame), at the moment all we know is that the film will be about the relationship between Empress Myeongseong, considered a national heroine in South Korea, and her bodyguard, Moo-myoung.
The movie is set to hit Korea late September.
