Dogani opens in the United States with the English title of Silenced
The Korean movie Dogani opened in the United States with the English title of Silenced.
According to the distributing agency, Dogani began playing at fifteen theatres in the United States including cities like New York, Seattle, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Las Vegas on Friday, November 11.
The English title for Dogani is Silenced conveying its main point of character’s grief, anger, and tear.
The final version of the movie which is rated R is played in theatres in Korea and now in the States.
When the movie opened in the U.S., writer Kong Ji Young started a charity on Twitter and raised about 10 million won.
Dogani is based on Kong Ji Young’s novel which is motivated by a true story that happened at a Deaf School in Gwangju in 2005. The movie created a stir in the society.
